FUTURE SIUE STUDENTS

posted Nov 14, 2016, 9:29 AM by Kate Brendel

Attention FUTURE SIUE STUDENTS:

This fall SIUE is starting a series of Interactive evening workshops focused on helping prospective students better gauge the college admission and scholarship process as well as the campus life experience at SIUE.

To accommodate the schedule of students and any potential parents that may want to attend, SIUE will host these programs in the evening from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Each program will take place in the SIUE Office of Admissions. Each program will also have a theme attached that will serve as it’s primary focus for the evening. There will also be an SIUE Representative on site as well to help answer any questions.

In addition, students can apply also for admission on site and the application fee will be waived. For this, we will need an official transcript and ACT/SAT scores to be submitted at the program.  For a transcript to be considered official, it must be issued directly from the high school in a sealed school envelope.  Test scores included on the transcript will be accepted for admission.

Our first program will be on Tuesday day November 29th at 6:00 pmin the SIUE Office of Admissions.

(We are located in Rendleman Hall on the 2nd floor Suite 2101)

The focus of this first program will be SIUE Scholarships and Financial Aid. The topics we will be discussing during this workshop will include…

·        The SIUE Application Process

·        The different types of SIUE Admission Scholarships/ Scholarship Deadlines

·        The Meridian Scholarship Application best practices

·        SIUE Financial Aid Award Letter Process

This is a new initiative we are implementing this fall and would love your assistance in getting the word out to your students. Students can sign up for this program at www.siue.edu/visit   Please see the attached document for more details.
