Freshman Orientation and CTE Open House Info From Feb. 10

freshman orientationOn Monday, February 10, 2020, Triad High School hosted a 9th grade orientation for parents of incoming freshmen. The purpose of the orientation was to provide an opportunity to understand the needs of students as they transition between the 8th and 9th grade year. Information presented at this orientation focused on graduation requirements, establishment of a 4 year plan, participation in clubs/athletics/activities, social/emotional support services, and introduction to administration/counseling staff.

The Career and Technical Education Departments (Business, Family and Consumer Science, and Technology and Engineering Education) also hosted an open house that night as well. Students provided tours to showcase projects, coursework, and equipment. Attendees enjoyed food prepared by FCS students, computer science projects, and demonstrations including 3D printing, CNC machining, welding, and robotics.  This event was open to the community and parents of Triad students.
